I visit blogs about SEO and visit lots of web-master boards as well as write some blogs of my own about Article Marketing, SEO, and Blogging. I learn a lot by visiting other people's blogs and forums and learn a lot by sharing that information with others.

But something bothers me about what I keep reading many boards and blogs. Individuals are enthusiastic about Google. You'll find forums where they check with Google as only 'g' because they seem to be afraid somebody at Google may read their post and nothing like it.

That Google passion borders on lunacy. Webmasters seem to be convinced that without an excellent ranking in Google and without Googles press, pr, they can't be successful on the web. Going To view site certainly provides suggestions you could tell your brother.

Let's think of that for an instant. Suddenly they just weren't there, but if they did, if Google folded tomorrow, not likely. Get more on a related portfolio by clicking open in a new browser window. http://Google.com did not handle, page can not be shown, what can you do?

Would it not be like the stock market crash of the 30's? Would webmasters be jumping off buildings? Since Google was gone would everyone just stop conducting business online? Would the forums be full-of grieving webmasters with nowhere to turn? Would they hold funeral services for the CEOs of Google and erect a statue of Matt Cutts? Can you light a candle for Google?

The point I'm trying to make is that business was being done on the web before Google became a search site, before adwords and adnonsense, before Matt Cutts had a weblog, and before Google employed an artist full-time to keep making sweet little Google logos. We made money on the web, before there was a toolbar, page rank, Google images, Google stores, and Google pay.

Yet, individuals write articles, sites, and forums articles that start with issues like, 'If you do business online, you have to look closely at Google', like that was a fact etched in stone.

Try an experiment, If you are someone who develops a great deal of web sites. Ignore Google for this one website. Focus on other search traffic and other ways to get business done. All without needing anything Google. Just check it out once. I will guess if you really try, you'll still have success with your site, without visiting Matt Cutts' website even once. Just make it a game, if you can make money on line without Google see.

Or do you have the Google habit so bad that you actually think the web could not actually func-tion without Google? It is like Al Gore saying h-e created the World Wide Web. For another viewpoint, people should peep at: advertiser. We realize h-e didn't. Neither did Google..
